Back in the Saddle (BITS) is a confidence programme designed by riders, for riders.
Kathryn and Sara are great friends who love to enjoy their horses in the hills of North Canterbury whenever their day jobs allow…and it was on one of these rides that the BITS programme was designed.
Recognising that too many riders lose their nerve at some point in their riding career, (and feeling very sad that this happens) Kathryn and Sara decided to combine their expertise and create a solution that explores both the rider mindset, and the physicality of our equine buddies.
The Back in the Saddle concept had begun!
Currently including a one day workshop and a half day workshop, there are plans to design additional complementary workshops in the future. The BITS workshops can be supplemented with group conferences and private coaching or vet consults, and there are exciting plans to develop more online options in the future.
The Back in the Saddle programme is ideal for combining with riding lessons, either at your local riding centre (maybe even on one of their horses until you’re ready to ride your own) or with an instructor at your preferred place of riding. You can talk about what you’re learning with the BITS programme, and they can help you to grow even stronger in your confidence.
No doubt the BITS programme will continue to evolve so please do get in touch with your ideas for how we could help you.
Kathryn
...is a full-time leadership coach. Her passion is working with professionals who want to grow their confidence, achieve success and build resilience so it was a natural extension for her to bring her expertise to help riders too.
Kathryn is also a mum and totally understands the multiple feelings and complicated emotions that go with climbing Back in the Saddle after having children.
Sara
...is a full-time vet. Her passion is helping animal owners (particularly equine ones) to better understand and maintain the health and well-being of their furry friends using integrated therapies (like chiropractic, laser and equine taping) as well as a more traditional approach, so she is excited to be able to share her knowledge on this programme.
